Position Summary

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Electrophysiology RN is responsible for overall care and evaluation of patients having procedures performed in the EP lab. These duties include circulating and/or monitoring patients having device implant procedures, electrophysiology studies, ablations, tilt table procedures, vascular procedures, DFTs and any other heart related procedures performed in the EP Lab. The care and evaluation shall include medication administration, assessment, physician assistance and any other duties which may not be specifically related to nursing functions. Job may involve being crossed trained and take call for procedures performed in the cardiac catheterization lab. The job may include transporting patients, clerical work and any other duties the coordinator / manager deem necessary. Job may include supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor.

Physical Requirements: Requires corrected hearing and vision to enable employee to meet performance standards. Requires frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment, and sufficient manual dexterity to operate therapeutic equipment. The RN must be able to stand for long periods at a time while wearing a lead apron. Good mental and physical health to work for long periods of time in a highly stressful atmosphere is required.

Position Requirements:

• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Active Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Licensed to Practice in South Carolina
• Basic Cardiac Life Support Provider or Instructor through American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider or Instructor through American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Experience: 2 years of Acute Care Experience Required; Cath Lab or EP Lab
• 30 minute call back time
• Special qualifications: A Positive Attitude is a requirement. Effective communication skills; both orally and written. Computer skills needed. Ability to work as a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong problem solving skills.
